Formed in Long Beach in the late 1960s, Creation of Sunlight (aka Sunlight Seven) was a short-lived Californian psychedelic-rock band. Their sole eponymous album, released in 1969 with a limited pressing of only 500 copies, is a hidden gem of sunshine-psych: bright melodies, intricate arrangements, and instrumental flourishes blending acidic guitars, psych organs, and subtle brass. Initially sold mainly at L.A. clubs like Whisky a Go Go, it was reissued in 2005 and is now cherished by collectors of authentic West Coast psych .
