Of the People, By the People, For the People est un ovni mêlant folk rock, psychédélisme pastoral, accents baroques et paroles existentielles.
🇺🇸 Biographie (English)
Common People was a short-lived Californian band that released one obscure yet ambitious album in 1969. Despite the band's anonymity, they managed to work with famed producer David Axelrod, who brought his signature grand orchestral touch to the project.
Their sole LP, Of the People, By the People, For the People, combines pastoral folk-rock with lush psychedelic arrangements and introspective lyrics. While commercially overlooked at the time, the album is now celebrated by psych connoisseurs as a rare gem of baroque acid folk.
