Released in 1975, Dog Days is Atlanta Rhythm Section’s fourth studio album and one of their most subtle and mature works. The record blends Southern rock with soul, soft rock, and mellow grooves, revealing a band comfortable in its refined style. While less hard-edged than some of their Southern peers, ARS delivers a smooth and cohesive album featuring rich arrangements, warm melodies, and introspective lyrics, anchored by Ronnie Hammond’s emotive vocals.
