Released in November 1974, Country Life is Roxy Music’s fourth studio album and arguably one of their most adventurous. The record showcases a darker, more intricate sound, merging glam rock energy with baroque sophistication and poetic introspection. Bryan Ferry’s lyrics become increasingly abstract and intense, supported by lush arrangements and impeccable musicianship. Highlights include The Thrill of It All, Out of the Blue, and the haunting Bitter-Sweet.
