Mardi Gras est le septième et dernier album studio de Creedence Clearwater Revival, sorti en avril 1972 dans un climat de tension croissante. Après le départ de Tom Fogerty, le groupe adopte un fonctionnement collégial : Stu Cook et Doug Clifford écrivent et chantent une partie des morceaux. Cette tentative d’équilibre créatif sonne malheureusement comme une fin annoncée. Released in April 1972, Mardi Gras is Creedence Clearwater Revival’s final studio album. With Tom Fogerty gone, remaining members Stu Cook and Doug Clifford took on greater creative roles, contributing songs and vocals alongside John Fogerty. The result is a disjointed record lacking the unified vision of earlier works. Although tracks like Sweet Hitch-Hiker and Someday Never Comes stand out, the album overall reflects the internal struggles and impending breakup of the band. CCR officially disbanded later that year, closing a remarkable chapter in American rock history.
