Groupe californien emblématique de la scène garage-psyché de la fin des sixties, The Other Half n’a publié qu’un seul album éponyme, mais celui-ci est devenu culte. Originaire de Los Angeles, la formation s’est illustrée par un son puissant, dominé par la guitare explosive de Randy Holden, futur membre de Blue Cheer. Ce disque condensé de rage, de fuzz et de rythmes hallucinés incarne le croisement entre le garage brut et la montée acide du rock psychédélique. Bien que le groupe ait disparu rapidement après la sortie de l'album, leur héritage reste intact, notamment grâce à des titres comme Mr. Pharmacist, repris plus tard par The Fall.

Hailing from Los Angeles, The Other Half were a short-lived but scorching garage-psych band, active in the late ’60s. Their sole LP, released in 1968, is now a prized collector’s item and a cult favorite of the psychedelic underground. The album features blistering guitar work from Randy Holden, who would later join Blue Cheer. Melding snarling vocals, pounding rhythms, and fuzz-drenched solos, The Other Half is a sonic snapshot of the raw energy and drug-fueled rebellion of its era. Though the band didn’t last long, their influence has lingered, with several tracks later rediscovered by garage revivalists.
