Sorti en décembre 1969, Shady Grove est le troisième album studio du groupe de rock psychédélique Quicksilver Messenger Service. Cet album marque un tournant dans la carrière du groupe avec l'absence du guitariste Gary Duncan et l'arrivée du claviériste britannique Nicky Hopkins, connu pour ses collaborations avec les Rolling Stones, les Beatles et The Who. L'influence de Hopkins se fait sentir à travers des compositions plus structurées et mélodiques, s'éloignant des longues improvisations des albums précédents. L'album atteint la 25e place du Billboard 200, devenant ainsi le disque le mieux classé du groupe aux États-Unis.

Released in December 1969, Shady Grove is the third studio album by psychedelic rock band Quicksilver Messenger Service. This album marks a shift in the band's lineup with the absence of guitarist Gary Duncan and the addition of British keyboardist Nicky Hopkins, renowned for his work with the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, and The Who. Hopkins' influence brings more structured and melodic compositions, moving away from the extended improvisations of previous albums. The album reached number 25 on the Billboard 200, becoming the band's highest-charting record in the United States.
