Savoy Brown est un groupe emblématique du British blues rock, fondé en 1965 à Londres par le guitariste Kim Simmonds. Le groupe s’est illustré par sa longévité et ses fréquents changements de formation, Simmonds demeurant la figure centrale jusqu’à sa disparition en 2022. Après le départ de plusieurs membres clés ayant formé Foghat, Savoy Brown renaît avec une nouvelle formation en 1971. L’album Street Corner Talking marque une étape importante : un son plus fluide, des compositions accrocheuses et une orientation plus accessible sans renier les racines blues du groupe.

Savoy Brown is a British blues rock band formed in 1965 in London by guitarist Kim Simmonds, the group’s enduring leader for over five decades. Known for numerous lineup changes, the band reinvented itself in 1971 with the release of Street Corner Talking, following the departure of key members who went on to form Foghat. This album marked a stylistic shift, blending blues, rock, and rhythm and blues with tighter songwriting and a fresh energy. It remains one of the band’s most accessible and celebrated works.
