Formé à Londres en 1966, Stray s’impose sur la scène hard rock britannique grâce à ses performances scéniques intenses, en assurant notamment les premières parties de groupes prestigieux. En 1972, le groupe atteint une nouvelle maturité avec Saturday Morning Pictures, un album ambitieux produit par Martin Birch. Ce troisième opus introduit des synthétiseurs et élargit leur palette sonore, mêlant hard rock, psychédélisme et accents progressifs. Malgré une grande qualité musicale, le succès commercial ne sera pas au rendez-vous, mais l’album reste aujourd’hui une Å“uvre phare du groupe.

Formed in London in 1966, Stray made a name for themselves in the British hard rock scene through high-energy live performances and tours with major acts. In 1972, they released Saturday Morning Pictures, a more experimental third album produced by Martin Birch. It features a refined blend of hard rock, early synth use, and progressive influences. Though it failed to achieve commercial breakthrough, the record is now considered one of Stray’s most accomplished works.
