Formed in Dublin in 1967, Skid Row was one of the first Irish blues/hard rock bands to gain international attention. Most notable for featuring a young Gary Moore on guitar, the power trio also included Brush Shiels on bass/vocals and Noel Bridgeman on drums.
Released in 1970 on CBS, Skid marked the band’s debut LP and presented a heavy blend of blues rock and proto-metal with extended instrumental workouts. The album is a showcase for Moore’s fiery guitar work and stands as a cult classic of early progressive hard rock.
