The Mojo Men est un groupe originaire de San Francisco, formé en 1965 autour de musiciens venus de La Nouvelle-Orléans. Ils débutent avec un son garage rock influencé par la British Invasion, avant d’évoluer vers un style plus raffiné et psychédélique. Leur plus grand succès est une reprise baroque-pop de "Sit Down, I Think I Love You" (Stephen Stills), produite par Sly Stone, qui atteint le Top 40 en 1967.
Mojo Magic est une compilation précieuse regroupant leurs enregistrements pour Autumn et Reprise Records entre 1966 et 1969. L’album offre un bel éventail de leur parcours musical, entre pop enjouée, psychédélisme West Coast et harmonies vocales subtiles. The Mojo Men were a San Francisco-based band formed in 1965, originally hailing from New Orleans. Their early work channeled the energy of garage rock and the British Invasion, but their sound quickly evolved into a more melodic and psychedelic style. Their biggest hit came in 1967 with a baroque-pop cover of "Sit Down, I Think I Love You", produced by Sly Stone, which climbed into the Top 40.
Mojo Magic is a compilation of tracks recorded between 1966 and 1969 for Autumn and Reprise Records. The album showcases their musical range, from jangly pop to sunshine psych, all wrapped in rich harmonies and West Coast flair. A hidden gem from the golden age of San Francisco rock.
