Putney Bridge est un obscur groupe britannique de rock underground, actif dans le sillage du glam et du pub rock du début des années 1970. Peu d’informations circulent à leur sujet, sinon qu’ils ont enregistré un unique album autoproduit, Burning Bridges, sorti en 1973. Le disque, à la croisée du rock psychédélique, du blues et du hard rock, s’est peu diffusé à l’époque mais a acquis un statut culte au fil des décennies, en particulier chez les collectionneurs de raretés vinyles. Sa production lo-fi, ses riffs crus et ses ambiances garage confèrent à cet album un charme brut et authentique, représentatif de la scène anglaise indépendante d’alors.

Putney Bridge was a little-known underground British rock band active in the early 1970s, riding the wave of glam and pub rock. The band released only one self-produced album, Burning Bridges (1973), which gained minimal attention at the time but has since become a cult classic among collectors. Combining psychedelic rock, blues, and proto-hard rock elements, the album features raw guitar work and a gritty lo-fi production that encapsulates the DIY spirit of the UK independent scene of the era.
