Joseph Longeria, dit Joseph, est un chanteur et guitariste texan qui publie en 1969 un unique album solo, Stoned Age Man, véritable OVNI sonore mêlant heavy blues, psychédélisme halluciné et soul primitive. Soutenu par une production audacieuse et des musiciens chevronnés du sud des États-Unis, l'album frappe par la puissance vocale de Joseph, proche d’un Tom Jones halluciné, et par ses paroles étranges, voire délirantes. Les arrangements, souvent minimalistes, reposent sur des percussions tribales, des riffs fuzzy et une ambiance fiévreuse. Resté confidentiel à sa sortie, Stoned Age Man est aujourd’hui une œuvre culte, prisée des amateurs de rock psychédélique sauvage et atypique.

Joseph Longeria, known simply as Joseph, was a Texas-born singer and guitarist who released only one solo album, Stoned Age Man, in 1969. A strange, raw blend of psychedelic rock, primal blues, and soul, the record features Joseph’s powerful, almost theatrical vocals and bizarre, cryptic lyrics. Backed by seasoned southern musicians and a sparse yet trippy production, the album walks the line between outsider art and proto-stoner rock. Though it went largely unnoticed at the time, Stoned Age Man has since gained a cult following for its originality and unhinged energy—one of the true oddities of late-'60s psych-blues.
