Andy Roberts est un chanteur, guitariste et compositeur britannique issu de la scène folk-rock anglaise. Membre fondateur du groupe Plainsong (aux côtés d’Iain Matthews), il a également collaboré avec Roy Harper, The Liverpool Scene ou Pink Floyd. Nina and the Dream Tree, son premier véritable album solo, voit le jour en 1971. Ce disque conceptuel, délicat et mélancolique, mêle folk intimiste, orchestrations subtiles et ambiances rêveuses autour du personnage fictif de Nina. L’album se distingue par une finesse d’écriture et une instrumentation soignée, parfois proche des travaux de Nick Drake ou Al Stewart. Peu diffusé à sa sortie, il est aujourd’hui considéré comme une perle cachée du folk britannique des seventies.

Andy Roberts is a British guitarist, songwriter, and folk-rock figure known for his work with Plainsong, The Liverpool Scene, and collaborations with artists like Roy Harper and Pink Floyd. Nina and the Dream Tree (1971) is his first major solo effort—a concept album built around the character Nina, blending gentle British folk, subtle orchestration, and introspective lyricism. The record has a dreamlike, narrative quality, evoking comparisons to artists like Nick Drake and early Al Stewart. Though it received little attention at the time of release, it has since been rediscovered as a lost gem of early '70s British folk-rock.
