Originaire de l’Indiana, Primevil est un obscur groupe américain qui a sorti un unique album, Smokin’ Bats at Campton’s, en 1974 sur le label 700 West. Fortement influencés par le hard rock psychédélique et le heavy blues, les membres de Primevil proposaient une musique âpre et rugueuse, servie par des guitares incisives, des riffs pesants et un chant habité. Formed in Indiana, Primevil released only one album, Smokin’ Bats at Campton’s, in 1974 on the underground 700 West label. Blending hard psychedelic rock with heavy blues and proto-metal, the band delivered gritty, raw music with fuzzy guitar riffs, driving rhythms, and impassioned vocals. Though initially overlooked, the album has since gained cult status among collectors and fans of early American hard rock. Echoes of Blue Cheer, Cream, and Black Sabbath run throughout the LP, making it a cornerstone for fans of heavy underground sounds of the '70s.
