🇺🇸 Biography (English)

It was in 1973, California, Los Angeles, songwriters, their loves, their lives, drugs and all ...! Joni Mitchell thirties and has released two fine albums, and Blue For The Roses and she begins to interest producers, even abandoning his first albums trademark and let go a bit by expanding its music. Best Californian musicians of the time to meet A & M Studios in Los Angeles. Not necessarily those who rock or even folk curiously, but rather those of the nascent jazz-rock just see jazz. Joni Mitchell was requirement, she went to find Tom Scott, who had worked with her on her previous album. Tom Scott was the head of a group of jazz-rock, LA Express, in which one was Joe Sample on keyboards and the great Larry Carlton on guitar (which will be replaced in the group at its reformation by Robben Ford ). Same for bass with big names such as Max Bennet (LA Express) or Wilton Felder (The Crusaders) and Jim Hughart (Ella). To finish with the rhythm section is John Guerin that ensures drums (he worked with Zappa) and Milt Holland percussion (one of the greatest drummers in the world, says Dylan) We pass on the many guests right, left to notice when the same duo, David Crosby and Graham Nash vocals. Small technical note, the cover is signed by Joni Mitchell, who had not forgotten that she drew before singing!

On est en 1973, la Californie, Los Angeles, les songwriters, leurs amours, leur vie, la drogue, tout ça...! Joni Mitchell a la trentaine et vient de sortir deux beaux albums, Blue et For The Roses et elle commence à intéresser les producteurs, quitte à abandonner sa marque de fabrique des premiers albums et de se lâcher un peu en étoffant sa musique. Les meilleurs musiciens californiens de l'époque se réunissent aux studios A&M à Los Angeles. Pas forcément ceux qui font du rock,ni même du folk curieusement,mais plutôt ceux du jazz-rock naissant voir tout simplement du jazz.
Joni Mitchell était exigence, elle alla rechercher Tom Scott, qui avait travaillé avec elle sur son album précédent. Tom Scott était à la tête d'un groupe de jazz-rock, LA Express, dans lequel on trouvait Joe Sample aux claviers et l'immense Larry Carlton à la guitare (qui sera remplacé au sein du groupe lors de sa reformation par Robben Ford). Même chose pour la basse avec des pointures,comme Max Bennet (du LA Express) ou Wilton Felder (The Crusaders) et Jim Hughart (Ella). Pour terminer avec la section rythmique, c'est John Guerin qui assure aux tambours (il a travaillé avec Zappa) et Milt Holland aux percussions (un des plus grands batteurs du monde, dixit Dylan) On passe sur les multiples invités à droite ,à gauche pour remarquer quand même le duo, David Crosby et Graham Nash aux choeurs. Petite note technique, la pochette est signée par Joni Mitchell qui n'avait pas oublié qu'elle dessinait avant de chanter !
