Hailing from Omaha, Nebraska, Froggie Beaver was a cult regional band in the American Midwest. Their only album, From the Pond, released in 1973, blends progressive rock, folk, and psychedelia, marked by ambitious songwriting and rich vocal harmonies. Although it had limited distribution at the time, the album is now regarded as a hidden gem of the US underground prog scene.
With introspective lyrics and soaring instrumental passages, Froggie Beaver evokes the likes of Wishbone Ash, Spirit, or even early Yes in their more melodic phases. The band’s heartfelt melodies and handcrafted feel give the record a distinct and enduring charm.
