Sorti en 1970, First Step est le tout premier album du groupe britannique Faces, formé par d’anciens membres des Small Faces (Ronnie Lane, Ian McLagan, Kenney Jones) rejoints par Rod Stewart et Ron Wood, tous deux issus du Jeff Beck Group. Ce disque pose les bases du style énergique et chaleureux du groupe : un mélange de rock, de blues et de folk teinté d’improvisations. Released in 1970, First Step marks the debut album of British rock band Faces, born from the fusion of Small Faces alumni (Ronnie Lane, Ian McLagan, Kenney Jones) with Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood from the Jeff Beck Group. The album showcases the band’s raw and unpolished sound—a blend of rock, blues, and folk influences delivered with a loose, jam-oriented approach. While not as refined as later efforts, First Step captures the spirit of camaraderie and musical experimentation that would come to define the Faces.
