Released in 1970 on the iconic A&M label, the sole album by Spirits & Worm is a musical oddity that blends psychedelia, soul, orchestral rock, and hints of gospel. Fronted by the male-female duo of Danny Jordan and Brenda Patterson, the record features lush vocals, ambitious arrangements, and bold production choices. Largely overlooked at release, it has since gained cult status among collectors of rare psych and sophisticated soul-psych. Its surreal, baroque, and sometimes hallucinatory atmosphere makes it a truly singular artifact of the early ’70s.
