Flower Travellin’ Band est un groupe japonais fondé à la fin des années 1960 par le chanteur Yuya Uchida. D'abord destiné à faire découvrir le rock occidental au Japon, le groupe évolue rapidement vers une identité propre, fusionnant heavy psyché, hard rock et spiritualité orientale. Avec Satori, leur chef-d'œuvre de 1971, ils livrent un album incandescent où la guitare acide de Hideki Ishima rencontre les percussions tribales et des chants habités. Flower Travellin’ Band, formed in Japan by Yuya Uchida in the late 1960s, initially began as a way to reinterpret Western rock standards. However, by 1971, with the release of Satori, they had found their own powerful voice—a fusion of psychedelic rock, proto-metal, and Eastern mysticism. Driven by Hideki Ishima’s sitar-inspired guitar work and Joe Yamanaka’s otherworldly vocals, Satori stands as a bold, transcendental album that resonates far beyond its era. It's one of the most striking records to emerge from the Asian rock scene.
