Premier album du groupe américain Little Feat, fondé par le génial chanteur-guitariste Lowell George après son passage chez Frank Zappa. Sorti en 1971, ce disque inaugural révèle une fusion étonnante de rock sudiste, de blues, de country et de funk, portée par une écriture mordante et des interprétations ciselées. Dès leurs débuts, les musiciens font preuve d'une cohésion remarquable, avec un son sec, roots et tendu, parfois plus proche du rhythm'n'blues que des envolées plus jazzy de leurs albums futurs. Little Feat’s self-titled debut album (1971) introduced the band’s unique blend of swampy blues-rock, country soul, and funky grooves. Formed by ex-Mothers of Invention guitarist Lowell George, the band burst out of the gate with tight musicianship and sharply crafted songs. Unlike their later, more polished and jazzy works, this first record is raw and gritty, steeped in blues and Southern rock traditions. George’s soulful vocals and lyrical wit are already in full bloom, making this a compelling and essential debut.
