🇺🇸 Biography (English)
Poobah, hailing from Youngstown, Ohio, was formed in 1972 by guitarist/vocalist Jim Gustafson. Their debut album Let Me In quickly earned cult status in underground rock circles for its heavy, fuzz-drenched riffs, bluesy grit, and psychedelic overtones. Drawing comparisons to early Grand Funk, Blue Cheer, and Sabbath, Poobah offered a raw and unfiltered slice of proto-metal that gained recognition decades later as a lost gem of 70s heavy rock. Gustafson’s passionate vocals and blazing guitar work define this powerful debut.
