Shotgun Ltd. est un groupe de rock américain éphémère qui a publié son unique album en 1971. Ce disque se situe entre country rock et folk psychédélique, porté par des guitares acoustiques et électriques, un orgue discret et des harmonies vocales inspirées des grandes formations de l’époque. L’ambiance est chaleureuse, roots et organique, avec une touche d’inspiration sudiste. Bien qu’oublié à sa sortie, ce disque est aujourd’hui redécouvert par les collectionneurs amateurs de musique roots vintage.

Ce groupe de jeunes musiciens californiens étaient tous âgés entre 17 et 21 ans au moment de la sortie de leur album. Ils ont été découverts par Delaney Bramlett (de Delaney et Bonnie) qui a organisé un contrat d'enregistrement avec Prophesy et sa société Delbon pour produire le LP. Avec Jim Gordon aux commandes, le résultat a été un puissant mélange de heavy/rock progressif avec beaucoup de guitares et de bonnes voix. Jim Gordon, Ben Benay (ex-Goldenrod) et le saxophoniste Jerry Jumonville ont fourni un certain soutien. Tout l'album a été écrit par les membres du groupe, avec l'aide de J. Loppnow sur deux pistes et de R. Lawson sur une. Trois pistes ('Number Two', 'Against The Wall' et 'Feelin' Bad') qui font plus de cinq minutes et le titre d'ouverture 'Bad Road' sont parmi les meilleurs moments.

Shotgun Ltd. was a short-lived American country-psych rock band that released their only self-titled album in 1971. The music blends acoustic and electric guitars with subtle organ arrangements and warm, folk-inspired harmonies reminiscent of the era’s roots-rock scene. While it flew under the radar at release, the record has been rediscovered by collectors and fans of vintage roots and country-tinged psychedelia.

This band of young musicians from California were all aged between 17 and 21 at the time of the release of their album. They were discovered by Delaney Bramlett (Delaney and Bonnie) who arranged a recording contract with Prophesy and DELBON company to produce the LP. Jim Gordon at the controls, the result was a potent mix of heavy / progressive rock with many guitars and good voice. Jim Gordon, Ben Benay (former Goldenrod) and saxophonist Jerry Jumonville provided some support. The whole album was written by the group members, with the help of J. Loppnow on two tracks and R. Lawson on. Three tracks ( 'Number Two', 'Against The Wall' and 'Feelin' Bad ') that are more than five minutes and the opening track' Bad Road 'are among the highlights.
