Sweet Toothe est un obscur groupe de rock originaire de Bluefield, en Virginie-Occidentale, actif au milieu des années 1970. Bien que leur existence ait été brève, leur unique album Testing, sorti en 1975, témoigne d’un savoir-faire remarquable dans la fusion des styles rock de l’époque. Avec des influences marquées par le hard rock, le blues psychédélique et l’acid rock, leur son repose sur des riffs fuzz, des lignes de basse lourdes et des vocaux mélodiques portés par une énergie brute.

La formation comprenait Michael Hopkins (chant), Emerson R. Comley (guitare solo), David M. Leedy (guitare rythmique), P.D. Bratton (basse) et Michael Chilco (batterie). Malgré un pressage initial très limité d’environ 1 000 exemplaires, l’album est devenu un objet de culte auprès des collectionneurs de vinyles underground et de rock psyché.

Sweet Toothe was a short-lived rock band hailing from Bluefield, West Virginia, active around the mid-1970s. In 1975, they released their sole LP Testing, a rare gem now highly prized by psychedelic and acid rock collectors. The album showcases a dynamic fusion of heavy rock, blues, and psych, carried by fuzzy guitar tones and melodic hooks.

The band featured Michael Hopkins (vocals), Emerson R. Comley (lead guitar), David M. Leedy (rhythm guitar), P.D. Bratton (bass), and Michael Chilco (drums). One of their most memorable moments was opening for Iron Butterfly at a local concert—a highlight of their short career. Despite disappearing shortly after their debut, Testing endures as a cult classic.
