Christopher Kearney est un auteur-compositeur-interprète canadien né en 1947 à Toronto, Ontario. Il se fait remarquer au début des années 1970 grâce au soutien de Gordon Lightfoot, qui l’encourage à poursuivre une carrière musicale. Rapidement signé par Early Morning Productions, Kearney déménage à Toronto et signe un contrat avec Capitol Records.
Son premier album éponyme, Christopher Kearney, sort en 1972 et connaît un certain succès au Canada, atteignant la 70ᵉ place du classement RPM100. Cet opus, aux accents de folk rock et de country, se distingue par sa sensibilité mélodique et ses textes personnels. Parmi les titres marquants figurent Country Lady, Loosen Up et Long Old Train.

Christopher Kearney is a Canadian singer-songwriter born in 1947 in Toronto, Ontario. Encouraged by folk legend Gordon Lightfoot in the early 1970s, Kearney launched his career under Early Morning Productions and soon signed with Capitol Records.
His self-titled debut album, Christopher Kearney, was released in 1972 and peaked at #70 on the RPM100 chart in Canada. The album features a blend of folk rock and country influences, noted for its warm melodies and heartfelt lyrics. Key tracks include Country Lady, Loosen Up, and Long Old Train.
Renowned musicians contributed to the recording, including David Bromberg (slide guitar, dobro), jazz drummer Terry Clarke, the duo Aarons & Ackley (Jim Ackley and Chuck Aarons), bassist James Rolleston, and vocalist Diane Brooks.
In 1972, Kearney represented Canada at the Rio International Song Festival in Brazil. He later joined forces with Bill King and Danny McBride to form the group China, signing with CBS Epic and working with acclaimed producer Bob Johnston.
