Lazy Racer était un groupe de rock britannique éphémère mais ambitieux, formé à la fin des années 1970. Composé de musiciens de studio et de scène chevronnés, le groupe alignait Bill Lamb (guitare, chant), Henry Spinetti (batterie), Kelly Harland (chant), Pat Donaldson (basse), Tim Renwick (guitare, chant) et Timothy Gorman (claviers, chant).

Leur premier album éponyme, Lazy Racer, est publié en 1979 chez A&M Records. Il se caractérise par un rock mélodique aux accents FM, typique de la fin des années 70, avec une production soignée et une certaine élégance dans les arrangements. Des morceaux comme Keep On Running Away, Limelight ou encore Heart Of Hearts illustrent l’écriture soignée et le talent des membres du groupe.

Malgré des critiques élogieuses, Lazy Racer ne parvient pas à se faire une place durable sur la scène musicale, principalement à cause de leur absence remarquée sur scène : le groupe ne se produit jamais en concert. En 1980, ils sortent un second album, Formula II, avant de se séparer.

Lazy Racer was a short-lived yet promising British rock band formed in the late 1970s. The lineup included accomplished session musicians: Bill Lamb (guitar, vocals), Henry Spinetti (drums), Kelly Harland (vocals), Pat Donaldson (bass), Tim Renwick (guitar, vocals), and Timothy Gorman (keyboards, vocals).

Their debut album, Lazy Racer, was released in 1979 under A&M Records. The record blends melodic rock with a polished, radio-friendly production, showcasing strong songwriting and refined performances. Tracks such as Keep On Running Away, Limelight, and Heart Of Hearts stand out as highlights.

Despite receiving favorable reviews, the band failed to achieve commercial success, largely due to never performing live. They followed up with a second album, Formula II, in 1980 before quietly disbanding.
