After the death of founding bassist Allen Woody in 2000, Gov’t Mule (Warren Haynes – vocals/guitar, Matt Abts – drums) decided to carry on with a bold initiative: inviting a different bassist for each track, all chosen from Woody’s own favorites. The result, The Deep End, Vol. 1, is a heartfelt tribute blending Southern rock, blues, and jam aesthetics. The album marks a powerful rebirth, fueled by collective energy and musical depth.
