Following his tribute to Townes Van Zandt (Townes, 2009), Steve Earle honored his other mentor, Guy Clark, with Guy, released March 29, 2019 via New West Records. Recorded in just five or six days, the 16 tracked album features heartfelt covers performed almost live, retaining Clark’s original spirit and depth. Earle’s rough-hewn vocals and deep emotional resonance, supported by his band The Dukes, deliver a powerful tribute that blends reverence with raw authenticity.
