Boxer est un groupe britannique formé en 1975 par le chanteur et pianiste Mike Patto (ex-Spooky Tooth, Patto) et le guitariste Ollie Halsall, lui aussi ancien membre de Patto. Leur premier album Below the Belt sort la même année, produit par Glyn Johns et marqué par un hard rock mélodique, teinté de blues et de soul, porté par une section rythmique solide et une voix charismatique. L’album est aussi célèbre pour sa pochette audacieuse et suggestive qui a marqué les esprits. Their debut album Below the Belt was produced by Glyn Johns and showcases a blend of melodic hard rock, blues, and soul-inflected rock. Known for its controversial cover art, the album delivered gritty performances and strong songwriting. Though not a commercial hit, Below the Belt has since been recognized as a hidden gem of '70s British rock.
