High Mountain Hoedown est un groupe américain mené par le chanteur et compositeur Edwards Hand (à ne pas confondre avec le duo du même nom), qui livre en 1970 avec Canyon un album riche en influences country rock, blues et soul. Dans la veine de Delaney & Bonnie ou The Band, le disque est porté par une instrumentation chaleureuse, des cuivres discrets et une voix puissante et rocailleuse. High Mountain Hoedown, a U.S.-based band led by vocalist and songwriter Edwards Hand, released Canyon in 1970—a soulful blend of country rock, blues, and Americana. Reminiscent of Delaney & Bonnie or The Band, the album features warm instrumentation, subtle horn arrangements, and a gritty, emotive vocal performance. Though under the radar at the time, Canyon stands out today as a hidden gem of roots-infused 70s rock.
