Titus Groan - Titus Groan (1970)

Taking their name from the gothic fantasy novel by Mervyn Peake, Titus Groan was a progressive rock quartet led by guitarist / keyboardist and singer Stewart Cowell. Their approach proto-prog, all tracks are long over 5 minutes and often dominated by wind instruments. Centered around the light 'Carvings' which is over 12' (also a theme Peake), the first and only album was released in early 1970.
