Originaire du Colorado, Dragonfly est un groupe américain formé autour des membres du combo The Legend, qui évolua vers une forme plus heavy et psychédélique. Leur unique album, paru en 1968 sur le label Megaphone, est devenu un véritable Graal pour les amateurs de hard psych US. Avec sa pochette flamboyante et ses guitares acides, Dragonfly livre un mélange explosif de garage rock musclé, de psychédélisme saturé et d’intensité proto-hard rock. La production brute, les riffs nerveux et les chants puissants en font un disque en avance sur son temps, parfois comparé à Blue Cheer, Iron Butterfly ou Sir Lord Baltimore. Un classique underground à redécouvrir.

Hailing from Durango, Colorado, Dragonfly emerged from the ashes of The Legend and released a self-titled album in 1968 on Megaphone Records. The LP is now considered a cornerstone of U.S. psychedelic hard rock, blending fuzzy guitars, raw energy, and proto-metal edge. Packed with garage roots and heavy psych aesthetics, Dragonfly showcases powerful vocals, acid-drenched solos, and a gritty production that prefigures the heavier trends of the 1970s. Though overlooked in its time, the album has since gained cult status and is widely praised for its intensity and originality.
