Formed in Lawrence, Kansas, The Wizards From Kansas were a short-lived psychedelic folk rock band whose only album was released in 1970 on Mercury Records. Drawing influence from The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, and Jefferson Airplane, their music features lush harmonies, shimmering guitar work, and a gentle yet trippy atmosphere. Despite their brief existence, the band crafted a remarkably cohesive and sophisticated debut, blending pastoral folk with acid-laced rock textures. Over time, the album became a cult favorite among collectors and fans of late-60s/early-70s American psychedelic sounds.
