Originaires d’Atlanta (Géorgie), les Night Shadows (ou Little Phil & The Night Shadows) forment l’un des groupes de garage-rock et psychédélique américains les plus anciens (depuis 1956). Leur unique album long format, The Square Root of Two, est autoproduit et pressé en 1968 sur Spectrum Stereo, tiré à seulement 1000 exemplaires. Il incarne l’esprit brut et inventif de la scène du Deep South, mêlant garage, fuzz, effets psychés, jams sauvages et humour décalé.

🇺🇸 Biography (English)

Atlanta natives, Night Shadow began as one of the earliest rock’n’roll bands in the US (1956), evolving into Little Phil & The Night Shadows by the mid-60s . Their sole LP, The Square Root of Two (Spectrum Stereo, 1968), was self-released in an edition of around 1000 copies. Known for its wild acid-tinged garage sound, sped-up vocals, backward tape tricks, extended fuzz jams and tongue‑in‑cheek lyrics, it’s hailed as an underground classic of Southern psychedelic garage rock.
