🎶 Biographie

Formé à Londres en 1970, Jodo est un groupe britannique de heavy blues rock porté par le guitariste Rod Alexander et le chanteur Bill Kimber. La formation comprend aussi Jon Taylor à la basse, Chico Greenwood à la batterie et Earl Jordan au chant. Leur unique album Guts, enregistré en 1971, est produit par Derek Lawrence (Deep Purple) et mixé par l’ingénieur Martin Birch. Malgré un son puissant, des riffs acérés et une énergie brute, l’album n’est publié qu’à l’étranger (États-Unis, Allemagne, Nouvelle-Zélande), ce qui entrave sa diffusion au Royaume-Uni. Privé de soutien local, le groupe se dissout rapidement après la sortie de l’album, devenu depuis une rareté culte chez les amateurs de rock underground.

Jodo was a British heavy blues rock band formed in London in 1970 by guitarist Rod Alexander and vocalist Bill Kimber. The lineup also included Jon Taylor on bass, Chico Greenwood on drums, and Earl Jordan on vocals. Their only album, Guts, was recorded in 1971 and produced by Derek Lawrence (known for his work with Deep Purple) and engineered by Martin Birch. Despite its fierce riffs and raw energy, the album was released only in the U.S., Germany, and New Zealand, limiting its exposure in their home country. Without a UK release and promotional support, the band disbanded shortly after, but Guts has since gained cult status among underground rock collectors.
