Originaire de Denver, The Rainy Daze est un groupe psyché-pop américain fondé autour du chanteur et compositeur Tim Gilbert. Leur unique album, That Acapulco Gold, est sorti en 1967 sur le label Uni Records. Le titre phare, qui donne son nom au disque, fait allusion à une variété célèbre de marijuana mexicaine, ce qui a conduit à sa censure sur certaines stations de radio. Hailing from Denver, The Rainy Daze was a short-lived American psych-pop band led by singer-songwriter Tim Gilbert. Their only album, That Acapulco Gold, was released in 1967 on Uni Records and included the controversial title track referencing a popular marijuana strain. With sun-drenched melodies, Beatles-esque vocal harmonies, and mild psychedelic overtones, the album captures the breezy charm of the 1960s counterculture pop scene. Though brief in their impact, The Rainy Daze left behind a cult artifact of the flower-power era.
