Paru en avril 1974, Seven est le septième album studio de Poco, et le premier sans Richie Furay, parti fonder le groupe Souther-Hillman-Furay Band. L'absence de ce pilier historique redistribue les cartes au sein du groupe, désormais mené par Paul Cotton et Rusty Young. Le son de Seven évolue : plus rock, plus direct, parfois teinté de funk ou de bluegrass, tout en conservant l’ADN country-rock harmonieux qui a fait la réputation du groupe. Released in April 1974, Seven is Poco’s seventh studio album and the first following the departure of co-founder Richie Furay. Now led by guitarist Paul Cotton and multi-instrumentalist Rusty Young, the band takes a more assertive direction, blending their country-rock roots with blues, funk, and bluegrass influences. The songwriting becomes more introspective and emotionally resonant, while the musicianship remains crisp and inventive. With tracks like "Drivin’ Wheel" and "Faith in the Families", Seven captures a band in transition, embracing change without losing its essence.
