Originaire de Los Angeles, Pacific Gas & Electric sort en 1968 son premier album Get It On sur le petit label Power/Bright Orange (réédité ensuite par Kent et Big Orange). Porté par la voix soul de Charlie Allen et les guitares explosives de Glenn Schwartz (ex‑James Gang), le groupe livre un blues‑rock téméraire, enregistré live en studio avec très peu de overdubs. Ce disque, bien reçu mais peu distribué, pose les bases de leur son furieux et les amène à signer chez Columbia après leur performance électrique au Miami Pop Festival de décembre 1968.

Hailing from Los Angeles, Pacific Gas & Electric released their debut Get It On in 1968 via the small Power/Bright Orange label (later reissued by Kent and Big Orange). Featuring Charlie Allen’s soulful vocals and Glenn Schwartz’s fiery guitar solos (formerly of the James Gang), the band delivers raw, live-in-studio blues-rock with minimal overdubs. Though well-received, the album had limited distribution but set the stage for their contract with Columbia Records following a standout performance at the Miami Pop Festival in December 1968.
