Sorti en octobre 1969, 100 Ton Chicken est le troisième album studio de Chicken Shack, produit par Mike Vernon. Il marque l’arrivée de Paul Raymond (claviers, chœurs), remplaçant Christine Perfect, qui avait quitté le groupe l’année précédente . L’album offre un son plus “lourd” et accentué, influencé à la fois par le blues de Chicago et Freddie King . Malgré l’audace, il n’a pas trouvé le succès commercial mais demeure une pièce culte pour les amateurs du genre.

Although it didn’t chart, the record remains a cult favorite among blues-rock aficionados.
