Originaire de Glasgow en Écosse, Captain Marryat est un groupe obscur de rock progressif et psychédélique des années 1970. Très peu documenté, le groupe a enregistré un unique album en 1974, à l’origine destiné à une diffusion locale et à des fins promotionnelles. Tirant son nom de l’écrivain britannique Frederick Marryat, leur musique mêle claviers envoutants, guitares fuzz et atmosphères légèrement sombres. Hailing from Glasgow, Scotland, Captain Marryat was a little-known progressive and psychedelic rock band from the 1970s. Very little is documented about the group, which recorded just one self-titled album in 1974, originally intended for local distribution and promotional use. Named after British novelist Frederick Marryat, their music blends haunting keyboards, fuzzy guitars, and subtly dark atmospheres. Over the years, the album has become a highly sought-after item among collectors of rare British underground rock.
