With Powerhouse, the third and final album of their initial period, American Tears pushes even further their explosive blend of hard rock and massive keyboards. Still led by prolific Mark Mangold, the band delivers tighter and more dynamic compositions, dominated by synthesizers and supported by a strong rhythm section. This album remains an underrated reference of melodic hard rock with progressive tendencies from the 70s.
