Hard Meat, trio britannique formé par les frères Michael et Steve Dolan, fait partie de ces groupes injustement oubliés du rock progressif et psychédélique du tournant des années 70. Through A Window, leur second album, publié en 1970 sur Warner Bros., mêle folk électrique, rock mélodique et envolées instrumentales raffinées. Plus accessible que leur premier opus, cet album témoigne d’une grande sensibilité musicale et d’une approche très personnelle du songwriting. Suivi par deux albums sortis sur Warner Bros en 1970 : Hard Meat & Through a Window. 

Malgré les tournées en Europe et aux États-Unis, aucun de ces albums ne connut de succès, et le groupe se sépara peu de temps après.

Hard Meat, a British trio led by the Dolan brothers, remains an underrated name in early '70s progressive and psychedelic rock. Through A Window, their second and final album released in 1970 by Warner Bros., showcases a more melodic and structured direction. Blending folk-infused melodies, textured instrumentation, and lyrical introspection, it stands as a hidden gem in the early progressive folk-rock scene. Followed by two albums released on Warner Bros. in 1970: Hard Meat & Through a Window.

Despite tours of Europe and the U.S.A., neither album achieved chart success, and the group disbanded shortly thereafter.
