Krokodil est un groupe évoluant entre les exercices de boogie-blues brûlants de leurs débuts éponymes et l'action psychologique massive de leur troisième opus («An Invisible World Revealed»). De nombreux groupes allemands et suisses ont tenté de chanter en anglais pour élargir leur audience et pratiquement tous n'ont pas réussi à le faire. Pourtant, "Swamp" se révèle être l'un des meilleurs exemples de ce phénomène, s'aventurant à Van Morrison, Fairport Convention et même Wailers à l'époque, alors même que le reste du groupe expérimente des sitars, des flûtes et des percussions originales. Un grand développement artistique pour le groupe sans dériver vers des clichés pop.

Deuxième album du groupe suisse formé en 1969, Swamp marque une transition majeure : leurs racines blues-rock s’ouvrent à un psychédélisme plus enivrant, intégrant flûte, sitar et percussions avant-gardistes. Enregistré en 1970 aux Bavaria Musikstudios à Munich, il allie imagerie à la Van Morrison/Fairport Convention à un esprit exotique et sombre, sans jamais sombrer dans la pop facile .

Krokodil shows a band in flux between the scorching boogie-blues workouts of their eponymous debut and the massive stoned psych action of their third album masterpiece ("An Invisible World Revealed,"). Many German and Swiss groups attempted to sing in English to broaden their audience and virtually all failed to do so. Yet "Swamp" reveals itself to be one of the best examples of this phenomena, venturing into Van Morrison, Fairport Convention, and even Wailers territory at times, even as the rest of the band experimented with sitars, flutes and avant percussion. A great artistic development for the band without ever drifting into pop clichés.

Krokodil’s sophomore album, Swamp, released in 1970, bridges their heavy blues rock origins and a richer psychedelic sound, adding flute, sitar and avant-garde percussion. Recorded in Munich, it draws comparisons to Van Morrison and Fairport Convention, yet maintains an immersive, swampy mystique free of pop clichés
