Country Joe & The Fish - Here We Are Again (1969)

Fourth of six albums of the band, Here We Are Again (1969) marks the bursting of the starting group which only remain 'The Fish' Barry Melton and 'Country Joe McDonald. This is the writing of a more pronounced manner (which is completely different from Together, missed the previous installment) and in a tone that will be one of his future solo career. Meanwhile, the group moved away from the psychedelic rock of which he was a pioneer. Therefore, Here We Are Again has nothing in common with anything that has gone before. The hippie utopia comes back like a boomerang in the face of the group raises his bags in a bluesy rock, folk-rock and pop decorated with jazz and R & B. mates Bay are always ready to give a hand , as David Getz, Peter Albin (Big Brother & The Holding Company) and Jack Casady, especially, they are on this album. Love and life are in the background. The whole is coherent, even if it does not sound very Country Joe & The Fish.

Parallèlement, le groupe s'est éloigné du rock psychédélique dont il était un des précurseurs. De ce fait, Here We Are Again n'a rien en commun avec tout ce qui a été fait précédemment. L'utopie hippie revient comme un boomerang en pleine face du groupe qui pose ses valises dans un rock bluesy, folk-rock et pop agrémentés de jazz et R & B. Les potes de la Baie sont toujours prêts à venir donner un coup de main, aussi David Getz, Peter Albin (Big Brother & The Holding Company) et Jack Casady, notamment, figurent-ils sur cet album. L'amour et la vie sont en toile de fond. Le tout est cohérent, même s'il ne sonne pas très Country Joe & The Fish.
