Tales From the Magic Sun is the debut studio album by Louis Lake, the musical alter ego of French songwriter Jérôme Beuret, self-released in August 2015. The album blends melodic pop-rock with jazz, funk, and West Coast flavors in the spirit of Neil Young, Pink Floyd, Wings, and Alan Parsons . The songs evoke wide-open spaces and introspective moods, from the uplifting warmth of “Straight to the Sun” to the tender instrumental “Ode to the Morning Dew,” a tribute to Beuret’s late father . It’s a musical journey suffused with sincerity and melodic richness.
