The Flying Machine was a British group formed in the late 60s, led by vocalist Tony Newman. Their sound blends sunny pop, soft rock, and light psychedelic touches, perfectly capturing the fading flower power era. Their self-titled 1969 album is best known for the international hit Smile a Little Smile for Me, which gained significant popularity in the U.S. The album delivers polished pop with smooth vocal harmonies and light orchestral arrangements, reminiscent of bands like The Association or The Cowsills. Despite the hit single, the band failed to sustain long-term success.
