Avec Airplay, sorti en 1980, Point Blank poursuit sa mue vers un rock sudiste plus mélodique et accessible, flirtant parfois avec le hard FM. Formé au Texas, le groupe conserve toutefois l'énergie des guitares électriques et les racines du boogie rock sudiste. La production plus lisse et quelques refrains accrocheurs ouvrent alors les portes à un public plus large, sans renier totalement l'identité initiale du groupe.

With Airplay, released in 1980, Point Blank continues its shift toward a more melodic and accessible Southern rock, occasionally flirting with AOR. Formed in Texas, the band still retains its electric guitar-driven energy and Southern boogie roots. The smoother production and catchy choruses opened doors to a broader audience, while staying true to the band's original identity.
