The Section are a US instrumental rock band formed in the early 1970s by musicians Danny Kortchmar, Craig Doerge, Leland Sklar, and Russ Kunkel. They are best known for both studio and stage work in support of some of the best selling singer/songwriters and solo singers of that decade. Their frequent appearances on the records of artists signed to Asylum Records made them the label's de facto house band.

The Section est un groupe de rock instrumental américain formé au début des années 1970 par les musiciens Danny Kortchmar, Craig Doerge, Leland Sklar et Russ Kunkel. Ils sont surtout connus pour leur travail en studio et sur scène en soutien à certains des chanteurs / compositeurs et chanteurs solistes les plus vendus de cette décennie. Leurs apparitions fréquentes sur les disques d'artistes signés à Asylum Records en ont fait le groupe maison de facto du label.
