Swampgas est un groupe Américain de Rock Psyché du début des années 70 originaire de Long Island dans l'état de New-York. En bref, il joue une sorte de Psych / Hard Rock Rural avec une guitare fluide et un orgue magistral. Ce quatuor de Rock était dirigé par le guitariste compositeur Baird Hersey, influencé par Hendrix. Le line up était composé, outre Hersey, du bassiste Jock Davis, du chanteur Kim Ornitz et du batteur Ricky Slater. Swampgas joua dans toute la région de New York. Ils furent été arrachés à l'obscurité par Artie Kornfeld, qui fut l'un des trois producteurs de Woodstock. La femme de Kornfeld les avait découvert, un jour, lors d'un concert où ils faisaient la première partie de the Gratetful Dead.
Swampgas is an American group of Rock Psyche from the early 70's from Long Island, New York. In short, he plays a kind of Rural Psych / Hard Rock with a flowing guitar and a masterful organ.
