Rare Bird is a British progressive rock band formed in the late 1960s. Their debut self-titled album, Rare Bird (1969), is known for its original fusion of symphonic and psychedelic rock, prominently featuring the Hammond organ that defines their sound. The album combines ambitious compositions, dark and melancholic atmospheres, and dramatic intensity that left a mark on the emerging British progressive scene. Their track “Sympathy” became a cult classic, perfectly showcasing their ability to blend power and emotion.
